Hi there
im afraid im a bit of a newb,

im considering using the usb-uirt to control my pvr/home cinema setup to change channels etc, but there seems to be some confusion about wethere the device can operate a uk spec pace (bskyb 2500s5) digital satelite stb. i am using btv3 as as the main stay of my pvr system (apparantly has support for the usb-uirt built in).

Q ive seen in some postings there may be a problem due to the use of irda signals in use on some uk stb's is this a factor with my stb?

Q. will usb-uirt control my stb out of the box or is it going to take a degree and ten years of research to make it work?

if you have any advice about the best way to tackle this project please let me know.

It's only the Pace cable boxes that use IRDA. A Pace digital satellite box should be fine.
