Dish Network Echostar 301

Postby Wisam » Tue Nov 09, 2004 7:24 am

I have a Dish Network receiver (DishPro 301 Echostar): http://www.dishnetwork.com/downloads/pd ... sh_301.pdf

Does anyone know if this receiver is supported by usb-uirt. If it is, do you happen to have the code.

Thanks.

Yes it is supported. What 'code' are you looking for?

Thanks a lot Jon.
Please forgive my ignorance since I am very new to this.
I am looking into buying a bundle from BeyondTV which includes the USB-UIRT http://store.snapstream.com/all-in-one-cable-sat.html but when I looked at the list that SnapStream has of supported receivers http://store.snapstream.com/snapstreamt ... -uirt.html I didn’t see mine there, so I thought I would need to enter the receiver’s code into USB-UIRT to recognize it, do I need to do this? If not, how would I tell the USB-UIRT about my receiver?

If you recall the days of 'Learning' remotes...

The USb-UIRT is like a 'learning' remote. It does not have 'code sets', like 'Universal' remotes do. So, if Snapstream does not already have a profile for your equipment, you can 'learn' your remote (a process of having the USB-UIRT 'record' your remote's signals).

However, since most all Dish Network models use the same remote codes, you will likely be able to simply select another Dish model from Snapstream's list and avoid learning altogether.

Great, that sounds like an easy task.

Thanks again Jon for your help.

This doesn't work

Postby bschuhma » Fri Jun 13, 2008 2:51 am

Jon,

I did just this with my new USB-UIRT. I, too, have a DP301 and SnapStream and I can't find any of the SnapStream supported profiles (i.e. Echostar 1000, Echostar 2000, Echostar 3000, Echostar 370, etc.) that will work. The Echotar 470 profile completely locks my computer up and I have to reboot hard.

Any suggestions on getting a DP301 working with Snapstream?

Thanks,

Bret
