Hi,
I am totally new to this so please forgive my ignorance. There doesn't seem to be a user guide on the usb-uirt web site. Do I have to aim the receiver/transmitter box at the DirectTV receiver to allow my PC to control the directv channels? My directv receiver is mounted on a rack and I have no room to place the receiver/transmitter box. Or, do I need to purchase an external emitter (using the 1/8" mini jack) and place the external emitter directly on my directv receiver? If so, where can I purchase the external emitter?
Thanks alot for your help

The USB-UIRT *does* transmit out the front, so aiming it at your box will definitely work, however, the transmitters (blasters) are strong enough that in many situations the USB-UIRT can be aimed the opposite direction and allow the IR signals to bounce off far walls, etc.
