XP won't load drivers

Hi,

I had to re-install my OS recently and now I can't seem to get my USB-UIRT installed. It's listed as USB-UIRT in Device Manager, which I guess means it's recognized ok, but XP won't load the drivers even when I point it directly to the folder where I've unzipped them (Windows\System32).

I'm using version 1.3 drivers from the web site. I've tried registering the dll's, although reading around here it appears that's not really required. By the way, it won't let me register them. It says:

uuirtdrv.ddl was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file can not be registered.

Don't know if that matters at all.

At any rate, does anyone know what the problem here is?

Thanks

Two comments:

1. You should not/cannot register the .dll.

2. You probably do *not* want to unzip the 1.3 driverset to your Windows\System32 folder. Instead, unzip it to a temporary folder and then try pointing windows to that folder.

Ok, here's what I did and it worked.

- Uninstalled USB-UIRT from Device Manager
- Deleted all the driver files from the System32 directory
- Unplugged the USB-UIRT
- Rebooted
- Plugged it back in
- When Windows asked me where the drivers were I pointed it to a temporary file where I had unzipped them.

Then it installed just fine. Thanks John!
