Getting unable to communicate USb-UIRT error in every program I try.
It looks fine in the device manager. Re flashed firmware twice and reloaded drivers twice. Unplugged and plugged back in. No go

Does the red led on the USB-UIRT light up when you push a button on one of your remotes?

Did you flash it with this firmware (if not please try): www.usbuirt.com/latestFirmware.zip

I got it to work by adding a usb pci card

Sounds like it might have been a power issue, then. Some PC's USB power supply is really low on their built-in ports (saves $$). Since the USB-UIRT uses the USB power, this can cause problems if the supply is too low.
