Mods to IR Emitter from Time Warner Pioneer Cable Box?

Does anyone have experience with modifying the IR Emitter that Time Warner sells that sticks on to their cable box (mine is a Pioneer Voyager; here's a link to the unit which they sell for like $15: http://www.twcarolina.com/downloads/vcr_commander.pdf )? I figured it would be easy to cut the current end off and put the mini jack on so it'll plug into the back of the UIRT rather than me trying to come up with some way to stick a home-built unit onto my cable box.

Thanks in advance if anyone has tried this and has some info...

All,

This was a very easy mod and ends up working and looking great. I just cut the existing cable-box end off the cable (leaving about 9 inches of cable in case I ever want to re-attach), stripped down the outer sheath and the wires, and wired it up. The red cable is + and goes to tip; black is - and goes to barrel.

Works great!
