Why blaster and sensor both on the front?

I have been wondering about this for a long time, why do you have the blaster and the sensor both on the front of the device?

Seems to me I will almost always be arranged, A B C, where I am A sitting in a chair, B is the box, and C is my AV system, so that sensor on the front and blaster on the back would work much better. Either that or the box will be in with the rest of the AV system so the blaster is pointing away from all the stuff I want it to control.

This was mainly done in the interest of having a compact unit. Many find that even though the USB-UIRT might be sitting on top of your A/V equipment, its blasters can usually bounce off nearby surfaces and reach the A/V equipment anyway.

I was wondering about that. In the past I was told IR doesn't reflect well, but if its well enough thats OK too. I already have some stick on blasters for the problem units.

Thanks.
